Yes indeed, that is the Hungarian flag within Romanian borders! Because Szekely Land actually consists in three counties inside Transylvania, with a huge Hungarian population. Which can only mean one thing: a guarantee that everything is properly prepared for the eyes of their visitors. I have already covered Mures on this blog - do find it by the way, it is one of the most beautiful in Romania! Harghita and Covasna are my main focus for today, a controversial area with many things to offer for any nature lover, hiking fan, any adventurer who wishes to tick off all the beautiful places in this world.
Former European cultural capital, Sibiu should be a top priority for any tourist planning a trip to Romania! It is the living proof of Transylvania's medieval architecture, and in the same time is a vibrant, modern city, proudly carrying its German heritage. Without a doubt, Sibiu is comparable with any other landmark in Europe, being listed as the 8th most idyllic place in the world by Forbes Magazine. As for me, 2017 is already the fifth consecutive year I travel to Sibiu, so I kind of have a good back-up when I say this: it is definitely among the best cities to visit in Europe!

And today, I am going to show you why, with the help of some personal memories dating back to 2013...

The same as Maramures but with a different identity, Bukovina also impresses with the beauty of the mountains, the century-long traditions and the tasty cuisine. What stands it apart is the strong medieval legacy, with the region finding its glory back in the 15th century as part of Stefan cel Mare's Moldavia. The historical area is nowadays split in two between Romania and Ukraine, and this article looks to cover the uniqueness and beauty of the Romanian territory.
Now I don't have an objective reason to back-up this statement. Probably because it is one of the first places I have visited in my life, outside Bucharest. Or maybe thanks to Mures being one of the most offering counties in Romania when it comes to tourism. Or just because I have a strange, pleasant feeling that I am actually in Barcelona every time I walk on the streets and hills of this beautiful city. I know it's an odd choice, especially with other more popular places in Romania. What I always do is recommend anyone to give it a try to Mures, and you'll see why in the following 5 minutes!
