Almost every Romanian owns a nice memory related to the Black Sea. This is where the first childhood holiday with their parents probably happened. Or the first escape from home, by train or by car, for a getaway with their gang. The first summer love, the second, the third... Or, when we become parents, one of the first assumed responsibility to look for suitable conditions for their loved ones. With the season officially started by May 1, it is the perfect time to see how is the Black Sea in Romania and why it attracts millions of people for all the reasons you can think of!
Prahova Valley is by far the most popular mountain destination in Romania. It enjoys amazing landscapes, wild legends, countless lodging opportunities and... the shortest distance to Bucharest. Which can only be good for the development of this area, but also has its downsize as well. So, before booking a trip to Bucegi Mountains, here are a few pieces of information to take into account.
If you have ever been to popular places such as Vienna or Budapest, you had the chance to admire Danube - the second largest river in Europe. Beautiful, right? Well, let me tell you a secret: there is no place along this river, more spectacular than the Danube Boilers in Romania! And today, I am going to show you why, with the help of some personal memories dating back to 2013...
Easter is just around the corner. Now I don't know what's happening in your country - I have always celebrated this holiday at home with the loved ones. What I can tell you is about us. We eat. And eat. And again.... we eat! And when we stop eating, we also have some other nice customs, worth to be lived someday by anyone who hasn't tried the Romanian way of life yet! Here they are...
We have recently made a habit - to travel to Sibiu on a yearly basis. It is already the fifth consecutive year we've been to this wonderful city, and every time we go, we discover new interesting things to do. This time was no exception, despite spending one night only in the heart of Transylvania.
Buzau is the region in Romania to see some wild, genuine Carpathian beauties! Pretty close to the very crowded Prahova Valley, the mountains in this area offer some of the most picturesque landscapes, unaltered by too much tourism. Add to that some of the most unique landmarks in the world or the international fame of local vineyards, and there you have it - probably the most beautiful county which is undeservedly forgotten in any touristic offer for Romania!
Today I am celebrating six months from the very first entry on this website! October 3, 2016 is the day of the first article on the blog. And it's the perfect time to admit the truth - I feel more and more addicted to this project... I am ready to give up on many things in my life just to focus on promoting the image of Romania. From remembering beautiful places to looking for enthusiastic reactions about tourism in Romania, from connecting with some amazing people to learning about the most interesting projects developed by Romanians, from witnessing the latest events and the positive reactions the world has given us - this is how my journey looks like in the past couple of months!
OK, so we've been to Iasi this weekend. Our friends keep asking us why, and I have to admit it is not really the most popular place in Romania. Well, I can tell you this, after three more days in the capital of Moldavia: it is actually comparable with any city-break destination in Europe, with a big bonus: it has the most unique combination of old and new, in the same place, I can think of in this world!
Around 25 deltas have been formed all over the world, and one of them lies almost entirely in Romania. The Danube Delta is the second largest in Europe and one of the most spectacular and best preserved in the world. It is formed around the three main channels flowing into the Black Sea - Chilia, Sulina and Sfantu Gheorghe. It has been metaphorically called “Europe’s Unrivalled Wetland” and it’s a paradise for any flora and fauna lover who is ready to discover the most unique species in the world!
The Romanians Abroad section gets richer every day! Some awesome professionals happily share their story, their performances, their values and beliefs, their life abroad or their feelings towards Romania. However, I thought it was a little unfair for older interviews to remain somewhere in the back of this blog, just because some people believed in this project earlier than others. So I felt the need to create this ever-growing list, containing a short overview for each and every individual we Romanians should all be proud of!
