One of the last survivors of World War II passes away at the age of 96. A king without a crown, but with intact dignity and love for Romania. This is my way to pay the respect to the memory of the most important Romanian of our times - an inspirational life story from a man we took for granted for too long.
In my previous article, I wrote about four of the most popular places in Romania: Brasov Area, Sibiu, the famous Transfagarasan road, Cluj-Napoca and its beautiful surroundings. They are very sought after, both by Romanian and foreign tourists, for all good reasons. Today, I am going to show you where else me and others recommend you to visit. Because they are more than worth it. Because they display the best of Romania. And because they are among the best places to travel in the country I love the most!
In the last 7 months, I wrote about the best places to travel in the country: cities, mountains, the Danube, seaside, the counties - all areas worth a visit are to be found on The Golden Romania platform. My goal today is to highlight the most popular areas in Romania, the perfect starting point for planning your future dream trip to the cheapest most beautiful country in Europe!
Bistrita-Nasaud is one of the most beautiful county in Romania... forgotten by tourists. Me included unfortunately... I was a little reserved to write a review about a place I haven't visited yet, but the lack of info in English convinced me. I only know a little more than you do, thanks to the online research of some Romanian websites, and to the confirmation of my lovely wife who has been luckier than me! So, whether you like it or not, this is your most reliable online English source about Bistrita County, provided by a guy who hasn't seen it in 33 years, but has done a very thorough research! I just hope by the end of this reading, you will wish to travel to Bistrita as much as I do right now!
Yes indeed, that is the Hungarian flag within Romanian borders! Because Szekely Land actually consists in three counties inside Transylvania, with a huge Hungarian population. Which can only mean one thing: a guarantee that everything is properly prepared for the eyes of their visitors. I have already covered Mures on this blog - do find it by the way, it is one of the most beautiful in Romania! Harghita and Covasna are my main focus for today, a controversial area with many things to offer for any nature lover, hiking fan, any adventurer who wishes to tick off all the beautiful places in this world.
This tentative world map is an expression of my gratitude for all the amazing people I have recently met. Every new story I publish, every new profile I analyze makes me a richer human being. I know some of my entries may be long for these times, but for me they are all truly inspirational. It shows all these Romanians have a story to share, and they do that happily. So my goal today is to show you in a few words the true value of the Romanians Abroad section, what I've learned from my interviewees and what you should, too!
Sibiu, Targu Mures, Sighisoara, Oradea. Apart from the big cities mentioned in the first episode, these are by far the most worthy to visit in Romania. You will find my reviews for these beautiful places on the blog, for now - let's see what Booking has to say in terms of accommodation!
Bucharest, Brasov, Cluj, Iasi, Timisoara. For all of them and for any taste, you'll find proper recommendations in terms of lodging, only in this article! I know how time-consuming can it be to browse through all options available, to check reviews and photos, to compare prices... Been there, done that! It can be an interesting task for a numbers passionate like myself, but some other times I just wish I had someone do this work for me... So here I am, filtering the largest online platform worldwide and putting forward some venues I would personally choose if I were to book a room today in one of Romania's biggest cities!
Former European cultural capital, Sibiu should be a top priority for any tourist planning a trip to Romania! It is the living proof of Transylvania's medieval architecture, and in the same time is a vibrant, modern city, proudly carrying its German heritage. Without a doubt, Sibiu is comparable with any other landmark in Europe, being listed as the 8th most idyllic place in the world by Forbes Magazine. As for me, 2017 is already the fifth consecutive year I travel to Sibiu, so I kind of have a good back-up when I say this: it is definitely among the best cities to visit in Europe!
